State of Emergency in Thailand

The Government of Thailand declared a State of Emergency in Bangkok on 2 September 2008 after violent clashes in the city.

The State of Emergency does not impose a curfew but bans gatherings or meetings by more than 5 people and activities that might disturb public order.

Reports indicate that air -, bus – and rail transport in Thailand could be disrupted over the coming days.

International travellers in Thailand or those intending to travel to there soon could be affected by such delays and disruptions.
