S10596/1) Requirements: - Applicants must have
an appropriate Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification with two or more
of the following subjects: International Relations, International Trade and Investment,
Political Science, Development Studies and International Law and/or appropriate
experience
- A minimum of three years' working experience where competence
was displayed in managing personnel and resources
- A background in research
and policy analysis would be an added advantage.

Duties: - Conduct
research
- Write policy/briefing documents for DFA's principles
- Facilitate
timely execution of tasks of the Policy, Research and Analysis Unit
- Liaise
with counterparts at the relevant DFA desks, partner departments and with civil
society organisations
- Provide substance support for departmental processes
such as strategic planning, annual reports and other such processes as may be
required
- Oversee and assist in managing projects, including seminars,
conferences and workshops
- Assist in managing human and financial resources
of the Chief Directorate in the framework of the Public Finance Management Act
(PFMA)
- Assist in building the requisite capacity of the Chief Directorate
to deliver on its mandate
- Comply with legislative and departmental directives.

State Law Adviser
II (International Law) Salary:
R271 797 per annum (all-inclusive
package) (Ref. S10596/2) Pretoria Requirements:
- Applicants must be in possession of an LLB degree or equivalent
qualification, including a course in Public International Law and must be admitted
as an Advocate or Attorney of the High Court of the Republic of South Africa
- LLM
degree in International Law will be an advantage
- At least two years'
experience in the practice of law
- Practical experience in the application
of International Law would be an advantage.

Duties:
- Render advice and opinions on International Law to all State
departments
- Draft and negotiate international treaties and agreements
- Participate in international conferences and meetings
- Compile
and amend Acts of Parliament administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs
- Render advice and opinions on South African law to the Department of
Foreign Affairs if required.
