Requirements:

Requirements:
Applicants must be in possession of a relevant commercial degree or diploma or postgraduate qualification (Internal Audit, Financial Management or Management Accounting or Economics)
Studies towards a professional qualification, eg CIA/CA, would be an added advantage
At least five years’ experience in internal auditing or external auditing and three years’ experience in performance auditing, of which two had been at supervisor/management level
Knowledge of and ability to conduct performance audits, management consulting and performance information audits
Ability and willingness to travel extensively abroad
Valid driver’s licence.

Duties:
Provide strategic leadership to the Performance Audit Directorate
Develop the Directorate’s three-year rolling strategic plan and provide assistance in developing and preparing the Internal Audit Chief Directorate’s three-year rolling strategic plan
Manage, supervise and direct performance audit, contract audits, performance information audits, complex management consulting assignments and ad hoc internal auditing assignments in accordance with DFA methodology and IIA standards
Promote the concept of performance auditing within the DFA
Plan and conduct performance audits in accordance with DFA methodology and IIA Standards l Review and supervise audit work performed by audit staff members, including signing off audit working papers
Ability to perform and manage an audit assignment from start to finish
Review audit reports
Manage, monitor, supervise, mentor and support audit staff
Assess audit staff
Manage client relationships
Recommend management measures to improve the economical, effective and efficient utilisation of resources within the DFA
Present Audit Reports to the Audit Steering Committee
Prepare Consolidated Internal Audit Reports for the Audit Committee and Departmental Management Committee
Facilitate and assist with risk assessment and other risk management-related projects on an ad hoc basis
Manage the annual budget of the Performance Audit Unit and assist the Chief Directorate in managing its budget.

Present and assist other departmental representatives to present the Department’s cases
Guide and coach other investigators and departmental representatives.
